On Sunday, officials from the music institution announced that the True Colors hitmaker would be part of the Class of 2025 under the performer category.

Other artists to be inducted this year include Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, OutKast, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes.

Taking to Instagram after the news, Cyndi noted that she was "humbled" to be in the company of many of her heroes, such as Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Joni Mitchell, and Wanda Jackson.

"Women have made so many important contributions to music and to rock n roll and a win for one of us is a win for all of us," the 71-year-old wrote. "Thank you to the voting members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for this honor."

To conclude her message, Cyndi gave a shout-out to her fans.

"And thank you to my fans for supporting me throughout my career. I could not do any of this without you," she added.

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is set to take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on 8 November.

To be eligible for induction, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

"Each of these inductees created their own sound and attitude that had a profound impact on culture and helped to change the course of Rock & Roll forever," said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, in a statement. "Their music gave a voice to generations and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps."
